My carb isn't supplying vacuum to my distributor because the vacuum port passes through the body-base gasket and into a dead-end rectangle hole in the base. How do I set up a fully mechanical advance? The factory specs are 0 initial, 7.5 vacuum and 18 degrees mechanical. Does anyone know if my carb gasket should connect the dist vacuum port hole to an adjacent hole? Don't know if the base is wrong or the gasket is. It is a re-man 7040206 IF (7038524) with a 40687 base. Thanks, Chuck
