I am going for a 7 day trip with 5 other buddies to Cabo for spring break. Anyone know anything special? I assume I am just going to party, see the sites, lay by the pool/beach, and lay other stuff. ;) Anyway, just thought I would make all you old farts jealous, going to be alot of fun down there and was hoping maybe one of you guys would know of something special.

The Office (right on the beach) is a great place to hang, good grub, too; Cabo Wabo, of course; Squid Row; Giggling Marlin is a blast, too!. Definitely do a sunset booze cruise, we had a bunch of couples doing body shots last time! Land's End/Lovers Beach usually has some nude sunbathing women because you can only get there by water taxi. Have fun! 64elkynss

Been there, done that & got the sunburn to prove it. Typical Mexico...always cheaper to get back to the airport then to get to the hotel when first arriving.

However, the fishing is pretty damn good...
Buying any silver, check it with a magnet first. ;)
Have a great trip! :beers:

Share with your friends. Party like its 1999:thumbsup::beers: Make sure you fill out a will and put me down for your elky:D

Trust me when I say that when you are my age (40) you will look back to when you were 23 and wish you could feel like that again. You are not old and should not even feel that way. I look back to when I turned 30 and thought at that time I was getting old but would love to be 30 again.

Go see your doctor and get the pills that help to protect you from the water. We took the pills with us and were fine but a friend of mine could not get more than 500 feet from a washroom. He drank nothing but bottled water but we figured it was probably from brushing his teeth with tap water, and/or eating salads that had the lettuce rinsed in the water. Get the pills! They are worth it. Mexican tiolet paper feels like it is made in the same factory as emery cloth so it would not hurt to throw a couple of rolls in your siutcase as well. Having the trots + sandpaper toilet paper = no fun.

I'm getting scared now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sure glad my wife didn't want to see that movie, she'd be going on her own no matter how much action she'd promise me. I'd go without for a year before stooping to see that flick.

Ok, ok, passing up action,,,,,been married for 16 years,,,,,maybe I'd have to take one for the team to get some, BUT she didn't want to see it so all is well!

You will like it there!! I went on our honeymoon for a week, and had the good fortune of going in august. It is a pretty new town as far as mexico goes so you won't see much ghetto-y places. a lot of the beach toward the end of the town they won't let you go into the water because of a huge rip current. Oh and DON'T be suckered into listening to a timeshare presentation. When you get to the airport the first person you see will try to help you with your bags and will likely take you straight towards one of the buggers.

Also, people will come up to you anywhere, even if youre eating dinner, and try to sell you stuff. Stupid stuff. They will keep coming so best just to get used to it.

There is a restaurant there, el rancho or something like that. It is one of the older buildings in town, great restaurant. If you want to eat outside, keep in mind - trees and lots of tropical birds are a bad mix for folks (and food) on the ground.

Go on a ship cruise that goes out by "los arcos". Pretty neat out there.

Cool guys, wasnt expecting this much great info. I will get the pills and try to check out those restaurants.

No guys, I never saw the movie. But everyone has heard about it and what goes on.

Darryl, no amount of action is worth watching that movie... Well maybe... :D

Wow... I would say the responses you have received just proved that this team is a melting pot gone horribly wrong. Something like the state of Texas (so how are you Mark?) :D.

Anyway... take the pills they work. Don't get arrested the regulars in the big house will definately think you are cute, and somehow imagining you in Darryls skirt and wig just sends shivers down my spine. You will have locals offer you drugs, etc... and right after they take your money they will take more from the polica to turn you in. So stick with DRINKING, if you are not having fun...drink more.

If you are going to touch the locals I would also recommend taking rubbing alcohol and penicillian. :beers: Oh yea (DB I think I will watch movies at your place tomorrow night... just me and Mrs. Fryntyr. :p)

But most of all HAVE FUN! I am thinking of spending my anniversary in June just south of Puerto Vallarta in a little town called Yelapa. Really rustic and layed back, but I love the hiking opportunities and the beach. Here's the hotel I think I am heading for www.hotel-lagunita.com (http://www.hotel-lagunita.com) .

Have fun... should we start a mexican bail money jar, just in case we need to buy you cigarettes or hookers in the big house?

You'll have a great time. Just don't do anything stupid. Don't stray too far from the tourist areas.

My wife and I went there for a week for our honeymoon in 2000. One of the cool things we did was book a tour through the resort. Did a bunch of stuff in one day; blown-glass factory, glass-bottom boat tour, lunch, parasailing, flea market.

On the tour I buddied up with our tour guide "Jorge" and gave him a good tip at the end. On our last night there, Jorge showed up at the bar in our resort and was partying with us and the other guests, as well as some of the resort staff. After I shifted gears from Tecate to Margaritas things got fuzzy but the party migrated to our room. I'm certain that Jorge's negotiations with hotel security kept me out of jail.

Just be cool and treat the locals good.

If you only drink bottled water and avoid ice in drinks (that may be a little hard) and salads (basically anything the local water is used in) you'll avoid any Gastrointestinal issues :D
You don't want to spend your holiday bent over and sitting on the crapper !
Not sure if there's a pill for that ?

Mel, I'm doing well sitting here in VA expanding my horizons and trying to save some money for some go faster parts............the usual:)

So, are you gals going to do the hot chocolate, PJs, comfort food, and chick flick night or the margarita, pizza, and chick flick night??

Princess
Feb 9th, 08, 10:24 PM
Brett, the spelling on this is going to suck...but the pills I always take with me are acifidolphilas. Then avoid anything washed with water, etc like the guys said. If you eat fruit rinse it with bottled water.

Mark, "hot chocolate, PJs, comfort food, and chick flick night or the margarita, pizza, and chick flick", not my idea of fun. :beers: Well... margarita's maybe.... I don't own PJ's and comfort food just sticks to ur butt, so in the interest of calories I would forgo food and double the margarita intake. The added advantage of course is if you have enough of them, any movie you rented just became a great one. And although I do like chick flicks they ruin a good buzz as well as my makeup. I would rather see stuff blown up anyway.

Im not one to bring this up buttt check your calorie #s on those mixed drinks. You may be surprised. Also alcohol doesn't allow you body to burn fat efficiently.

Sorry used to be into body building in my late 20s early 30s and learned alot about diet. Damn I hate that 4 letter word.
