: split rpm torque converters? mearsman Dec 31st, 99, 3:17 PM In the latest issue of high performance chevy they did an article on a 64 ss with a 502ci and 502hp.It had a split converter in it and it was cool!At the flick of a switch you could go from a 1600rpm converter to a 2500rpm converter.My question is where can I get one and how much are they? Philip Dec 31st, 99, 3:20 PM They will only work with a 400 trans and I believe it has a special input shaft as well. Any good tranny shop should know what you are talking about. Sound's pretty cool, his car isn't on the road yet, so I can't say how well it work's. BTW it is a Turbo 400 tranny too. ------------------ Nick P.
