I used a comp cams magnum 292H that time around. It had a good chop at idle and pulled to at least 6000-6500rpm. It may have been too much for power brakes but I never got a vacuum guage on it. (this car had manual brakes). It was running a torker II intake at the time, It may have worked with power brakes with a dual plane intake. The total lack of low end torque was evident as the converter wouldn't stall any higher than 1200rpm. I think a dual plane intake would have helped a lot. The cam went flat due to an error that I made and took out the bottom end, so I won't know how a dual plane intake would have worked. Live and learn.
This time around I am using a UD cam and a performer rpm air gap intake. I forget the specs on the ud cam. I bought the cam from Mark on this site and should have it in a few days.
If you are at 10:1 compression, i would be worried about the 268H cam making the cranking compression a little too high, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. :D
