I am trying find prices for rotating kits.Anybody have any suggetions?I need a kit with steel crank, forged pistons, and h-beam rods.I want to build the bottom end as strong as can. Also, this would be my first time to try building it on my own.

Depends on which engine (SBC or BBC) and what power level your after. We've used Scat, Callies and Lunati all with great success.

It is for a 72 Chevelle sbc daily driver.Somewhere in 355 or 383 cu.in. Power wise as much as possible for a daily driver. Will even consider sbc 400 if I could find one!

A decent 4340 rotating kit would suffice. Scat has a fair priced stroker kit w/ SRP pistons in a variety of compression ratios. Abit of compression, good heads and cam (solid or hyd roller) should net 450-500hp with decent street manners. I agree, the 406 would be my first choice over the 383 or 355.
