I ran a new best by a big margin at the Pacific Street Car Assoc. race this morning (Sunday). The car had been running 11.62-11.64 for a while. At the Division 7 finals a couple weeks ago, I ran a new best 11.59 on the brakes (dropping 7 mph) during a round and broke out. At the PSCA race, I was running 11.63-11.65 with a couple 11.7x in there during TnT and time trials. This morning I ran an 11.503 at 115.08 completely out of the blue. The air was good and, I guess, the stars were in alignment. I had one more pass in the 11.50's, an 11.587. The rest were back in the 60's. I lost the first round with a big red light (-.068). But even with a good light I would have lost since I didn't come close my dial. I ran an 11.75 on an 11.64 dial. For whatever reason this car, that use to be very consistent, isn't anymore.

Still a new best, particularly by such a large margin, is nice.

Damn, wish I had been there to see that! I was pretty confident that you could pull off times like that - so let me now say that without doing anything major that you get into the high 11.4x's. As to the lack of consistency, I think it is time to retire those tires.

I had really wanted to go to the PSCA race, it just didn't work out for me this weekend.

Thanks, all. I never did find my light. The best was an .034 but most were in the .1xx's. (I'm still not use to .000 and not .500 being a perfect light.) My 60' times on the best pass was a tenth better than usual, 1.53 to ~1.63-1.64. The track must have been just right.

I was looking for you Thomas. I'd see a floppy straw hat and think it was you. You did say you thought low 50's were there and you were right. I hope your just as right about the 40's smile.gif . New tires before next season.

Pat are you running a spool or a posi? I had a posi start going out and made my times all over the place. It would run dead on 3 passes then be 3 tenths off...drove me nuts

Neither, Jim, I have a locker. I don't think it is unlocking. Both tires are smoking in the burnout. The tires (Hoosier drag slicks) are 3 years old and have a lot of passes on them. The wear marks still look good but the compound might be going away.
