Hey Guys, what can be done to the chassis were the body bushings go the holes are rotted a little and the bushings are almost pushing thru. I was going to make plates out of steel and weld them over the original holes, does anyone make a repair kit like this or is it going to be a custom job by me?
Thanks for any input

OPGI sells a "repair kit" for the body mounts on the frame. It is kind of expensive for oversized washers that are supposed to be welded on the frame. If possible, I would fabricate my own. Just my .02....

Yea i welded in the washers from OPG. They were pricey tho and and if you only need a few, not all 10 then look at ebay and there sold there single, didnt see that till after i put mine in.

Thanks, the problem with mine is the car is together and If I pull the body off this car will never get back together. I was thinking of making a 6"x6" plate bending it over the chassis and welding it on the sides, I'm not to worried about looks at this point. However its good to know if I do pull the body one day they make those washers to fix it correctly.

I got the same gauge metal. I used a cutting torch and grinder to make a bunch of C shapes the same diameter if you put two of the C's together to form the O. I then cut the C's in half to make it more accurate when i welded them in. In each of my bushing holes I had 1/4 of the original hole there (even if it was mostly rust) which I used to make sure I welded the fab. pieces in the right location. I then took out the rusted original 1/4 of the bushing spot with the grinder and welded in the last piece. Came out 10X better then i would have guessed. Oh yeh, this was the first piece of welding I had ever attempted, easy as cake.

I just solved that problem with 1 1/2" washers from my local tractor store 50cents each and they have the thick or thin and wide diameter or small diameter edges. after seeing the aftermarket kits for big bucks plus shipping i looked around for a better alternative.
