Has anyone ever used one? Anyone know what general bobweight the 350 or 383 sbc cranks are supposedly balanced to?

Balanced to what???????????????I beleive there balanced to a 1900 gram bob weight and new engine should be balanced as we had one here for another shop and it was 32 grams from front to rear.

I have a scat in my bbc 489 stroker... when it was being put together, the machine shop had to send the first two back to Scat as I was trying to have it balanced to a 1/2 gram or less with the pistons...

at any rate the first two were so far off they had to go back... so I would have it checked... by the time I was done I had about 650$ in labor getting mine balanced...not to mention the cost of the crank...

That's why I asked! I was'nt using one myself, I was just curious after seeing Scat's disclaimer that these were "balanced to stock specs."

SCAT seams to always be the ones that actually spec out from reading on here. My 3.75" cast small block crank was good to go from the box.

We buy the Callies Comp Star cranks for Callies for 487.00 and for that price its not worth buying a cast crank as we look for depenabilty at our shop and if i wanted to be cheap Liberty Engine parts has 4340 cranks for 389.00 as thats not a bad price either but the Callies cranks the journals are dead on for size.
