LKSV8 Feb 3rd, 08, 4:46 AM either can i , its like waiting on a fantastic birthday or christmas present, actually its my 50th birthday present to myself. there is about 40 to 50 of us over here in ireland that run american muscle cars as a club , we only started a few months back, and its gathering momentum. we meet once a week for a cruise , coffee, and general car talk. we have camaros, corvettes, trans ams, cougars, chargers, challengers , mustangs, etc, and now my chevelle, only 3 people know that the chevelle is on its way, and its very hard not to say anything bout it, its gonta be one huge surprise, i cant wait. as far as i am aware there is only one other chevelle here in ireland , so this is gonta be great.
snowtrav Feb 3rd, 08, 7:41 AM Congratulations on that birthday present and happy birthday.

furball8994 Feb 3rd, 08, 6:11 PM Welcome Liam!!! Great looking Camaro and velle. Looks like you'll have fun turning the Emerald Isle, Tire rubber black.

blue55 Feb 4th, 08, 12:05 PM Welcome to the site Liam. Last I heard you guys were at $8.00 a gallon for gas? And we're crying about $3.00 a gallon!! Enjoy the car and post pics when you get it.
LKSV8 Feb 4th, 08, 1:39 PM Welcome to the site Liam. Last I heard you guys were at $8.00 a gallon for gas? And we're crying about $3.00 a gallon!! Enjoy the car and post pics when you get it.Thanks man, gas over here is nearer $9 a gallon, :(. but its my buzz, going for a cruise on weekends, so i dont mind it, love just jumping in the car and having a good day out with our buddys, :hurray:The reaction we get when we drive through the city in a line of 20 or 25 clasic american cars is well worth the price of the gas. There is a very good classic car scene here in ireland, a lot of british , german , french, italian, and japanese cars turn up but the biggest draw is ALWAYS the AMERICAN MUSCLE CARS.:D:D
oldtimebaseballfan Feb 5th, 08, 8:50 AM Hello and welcome Liam. Good luck with your Chevelle. Where was it when you found it?
LKSV8 Feb 5th, 08, 12:20 PM Hello and welcome Liam. Good luck with your Chevelle. Where was it when you found it?Got it through MIDWEST CAR EXCHANGE . I believe it had been stored for a few years in nt mississippi, really looking forward to her getting home to ireland. ive been looking for a 72 chevelle for the last 6 or 8 months.
Jimmy P Feb 5th, 08, 2:44 PM WOW! The first Chevelle in Ireland? That's pretty special. We should celebrate that event somehow. When is it going to get there?
oh, WELCOME!
LKSV8 Feb 5th, 08, 3:13 PM WOW! The first Chevelle in Ireland? That's pretty special. We should celebrate that event somehow. When is it going to get there?
oh, WELCOME!Thanks for the welcome. i think there may be one other chevelle down the country, even if there is , we will still celebrate it in our club. my buddys know that there is something going on , but i aint saying a thing until it gets here:yes:. there are a lot of american cars coming into ireland from england and europe, not too many from the usa. its funny really over here when you get an old classic, its like the birth of a new child. the crew get together and generally climb over ,under , in and around the car. I am hoping that it gets here very early march, just in time for st patricks day. because about 25 or 30 of us head off to a few patricks day parades and cruise for the day. i am counting the days and it is driving me mad.i would love to have the car here NOW,

Pete 67 Feb 23rd, 08, 3:07 PM sorry about being so long in replying, heres a few shots of some of the crew last weekend, STILL WAITING ON MY CHEVELLE TO LEAVE THE USA,BOATS ARE BOOKED UP,
Liam,
The wait must be agonizing, but it will be worth it!!!! It's really cool that you guys love the American Iron over there!
I remember the first time I went to London in '99, there was a 76 plain jane Firebird parked on the streets in West Kensington. I thought it looked so out of place, but it was still cool to know there was a Brit who dug American cars.
When I went to New Zealand about a year ago, I could not believe the amount of muscle cars cruising the streets in Auckland. It was really an eye opener, and WAAAAY cool.
Can't wait to plan to trip to Ireland, but I think I would have to wait til it warms up! :)
Keep us posted on the car.
Pete
stroobydoo Feb 24th, 08, 5:31 AM Welcome, Liam! The love of Chevelles is all over the world. There are people on this site from Australia, The Netherlands, UK, and probably more that I don't even know about.

no sadly it aint here yet, it got caught up in snowstorms in illinois, and then we were waiting for my buddys 69 mustang to be transported to the depot , the 2 motor are coming in the one 40 foot container, so its going to be a fantastic day WHEN they do land here in ireland.
i have ordered a mountain of parts for her and one of our club members, bill is sending them on to me.
i have ordered a new chrome intake manifold , carb , new rocker covers ,chrome water pump.chrome timing cover. fuel pump, fuel guage , piping etc etc, tacho, water oil and volt meter, new stereo sitting in the box waiting to go in. going to take some time off work when the car gets here, have a ball working on it .
