I need others' experience in intake manifolds. I have a rect port bbc in a 64, running a victor jr manifold. Just the top of the carb is above the fender line. I've run without a hood for 10 years. I'm debating between either locating an elusive factory low rise intake or saying f**k it and putting a tunnel ram on it.

To those who have gone the single plane to low rise intake, how much did you actually lose?

To those who went to a tunnel ram, did you gain enough to make it worthwhile?

Thanks,

Devin

By the Edelbrock website a RPM intake is the same height, and a regular performer is 1/2" shorter. Cowl induction hoods look great I would do that before a tunnel ram.

A friend ran 11.70s with a chevy rectangular port intake on his tuned L78. Didn't seem to hold him back and it fit under the hood.

Devin,
One of my employees has a factory manifold he wants to sell. I am almost certain it is a square port intake. I will look at it Monday and let you know.

Bill- Let me know on that intake. Preferably casting numbers as well.

Thanks,

Devin
