Well it took 6 stops but I finally got the 86-87 era pulleys I needed so I will stop throwing belts. First two yards said we crush anything that old even though I can see stuff from the road  Wouldn't even let me look.
Third stop didn't know he had any but let me go look. Jackpot! 1 Camaro, 1 Suburban and 4 Astro vans all had them.

I went up to the front to get my tools from the truck and see what he wanted for them. I had told him what I needed before and now he says sorry you have to buy the whole motor. I argured with him a little and finally says in a heavy Middle Eastern accent. " Tell you what my friend, I am going to help you out. 75.00 each pulley" graemlins/angry.gif I told him to go f**k himself.

2 yards later got them out of a Suburban.

I was noticing how heavy they were. The WP has a V grove in front and rear and the crank had 2 extra grooves in the rear. I stopped at a buddies shop with a lathe and trimmed about 1/2 the weight off each by removing the parts not needed.

Now I can't wait to get them on and go back out to the track.

New and improved pulleys.....

Interesting approach... Those salvage yard people can be a joke. I only need this bracket..no, you have to buy the whole car....yea right. You just have to find the right places. Let me know when you are ready for the track...

He, He!!

Way back when I was 16, back about '63 or so, I bought a 232 Stude V-8 stick O.D. out of a parked car in a boneyar--, er, Recycling Center for $25 and I asked about the rad. and he said, take the whole car for $35!!

Dropped the Stude in an old '52 Willis Aero Eagle H/T in like 30 minutes and the guy that sold it you me for $18 b/c it had a bad motor in it said no way the Stude would fit an hour earlier.. He, He!!

Drove it around the country all summer long until the cltch x-shaft broke and then the motor and trans later ended up in a roundy-round car...

yes, old boneyar--, er, Recycling Centers!! He, He!!
