i tried searching, but i got too many choices, and none of what im actually looking for.

what options do i have to run rotors with my modified drum brake spindles.

what corvette ones work with barely any modifications. since i will be running 17's, 13" rotors will work. so how about c3? c4? c5? c6? or is the offset different?

what other 12" rotor is out there that will work?

11" rotors from an ls1 b-body will be in the rear.

and i would like to use the PBR calipers all around.

also, brackets for the bigger brakes, anyone make them, or are they cutom fit ones?

thanks.

Aaron,

Companies like Kore3 and Touring Classics offer kits to adapt the C5 Corvette brakes DIRECTLY to the stock drum spindle (and some hybrid C4 stuff that might fit easier on some wheels).

I know Kore3 offers just the adapter brackets, or a complete kit. VERY good customer service and support...

I installed one of their kits on my Chevelle; Complete bolt-on without removing the spindle from the car.

The kit had NEW PBR calipers (Corvette-spec, which I recall, were stiffer than F-body pieces), new rotors (Slotted and cross-drilled AC-Delco in my case), pads, Caliper brackets/abutments/pins/etc- Calipers/abutments were assembled and ready to install on the car, braided hoses, hardware/bolts, bearings/seals/studs... The only "modification" needed is to turn the drum brake hub slightly, to fit inside the rotor. Kore3 did this mod to MY supplied hubs, but I don't think they offer this service any longer (call and ask)...

I already had discs, so all I needed was the correct master cylinder...

They fit my 17" wheels, but tight, so I ran a thin spacer just to make sure... I bought in May 2006, and paid around $750, including shipping (heavy, so about $50+ for shipping)... Fluid and master, still under $800

There is a guy on here (Joe, Screenname 72SSAbody), with a kit that was similar, but a nicer price... I think his company name is "Engineered Velocity"...

thanks guys.

im looking to see what size rotors will work with the drum spindles.

i know the c5 rotors work with the b-body spindle, but it seems there are better alternatives now than the b-body.

thanks again.

If you look at Kore3's website they have a few different options with C5 and C6 rotors to mount to modified a-body drum hubs. I don't believe they do anything for the B-body stuff so C5 and up definitely works with modified a-body hubs with the right adapter.

pretty much any of the C4/C5/C6 Corvette stuff is an easy swap, as well as the 93-05 F body parts.
all you need to do is turn down the outer diameter of the rum hub to fit inside the rotor- i used my trusty bench grinder to do it on the Nova- and make up some brackets to mount the caliper baskets. look around, there are downloadable templates out there on the internet just waiting for you to find them. i got my C4 template from David Pozzi's site at www.pozziracing.com. that particular template will work with either 12" or 13" C4 brakes.
personally, i'd use the C4 vette setup. i don't likethe way the LS1 F body and C5/C6 setups mount the spindles with the silly little pins that like to corrode in place. the C4 setup actually locates using the pads, and the caliper is more or less just along for the ride.
