I have friend that offering me a 383 for a good price , what do you guy think about a 383 in a chevelle (1970) i have always ran 454 but he needs the money and the price is killer for a short block. is a chevelle too heavy for this motor set up??? the block is a 327 400 crank, 10.5 C:R flat top forged , well the cam card was lost so not to sure on the cam specs buti would be on the safe side and get a new one he also has heads but they are stock rebuild and with the money i would save i would like to buy aset of heads that would work with the piston set up
he has , FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME ANY HEADS OR CAM INFO. THAT WILL MAKE THIS A KILLER MOTOR AT A FAIR PRICE

There are alot of people on here that run 383s, including myself. Mine is in a full weight 69 and it runs great IMO. Im going too the track in a couple of weeks too find out for sure.

With the money you're saving, I'd go with some AFR heads and a roller cam. the 10.5 CR is dependent on the heads, so get the heads for whatever CR you need to match your goal.
