I couldn't find a rattle, so we brought our 70 396 SS in the garage. The cowl tag shows no paint code (just a -), and the car appears to be Hugger Orange, auto trans, p/s, p/b, a/c, buckets, console, map light in mirror, low washer fluid light. It will be a while but it should be sweet. We are documenting everything as it comes apart because it appears to be a single repaint and still shows a lot of the original paint processes.

If thats an original hugger orange/daytona orange paint car it was only available as a special order COPO.Only way you could get that color from GM in 1970.Keep it all original, be worth big bucks some day.

We are going back stock, but probably would have painted it Hugger Orange anyway. I suppose I will have to check with the tag team about the remainder of the cowl tag info.
