Just picked up a 4spd tilt column and the guy wants to know if I need the firewall cover. I have one for my non-tilt column currently in the car, want to know does/will that cover slide over the end of the column or does it have to come apart to be put on? I bought this for a future installation.

firewall plate is 2 piece held together with gasket & bolts.
