I want to run a 30-31 inch tall tire by 10 inches wide in my 70 Chevelle, I would like to lower the car and I am wondering how much interference if any I will have with the stock wheel well(tub)? I would consider removing the stock well and putting in an aftermarket tub if needed but I do not want to do a full tubbing. I know Scott B has done something similar and had to "work" his inner well wells. Is there an easier way? Any help , info ,comments welcome.
thanks
Bill

Bill.....I would grab a tire from a garage that is close to what you want to run.....height wise anyway......Maybe a GM dealership ....31 is to tall....30 will be pleanty tall......Maybe someone on this site as a old slick you could try.....I'm doing my tubs over as we speek.....With the car lowered my modified last years tubs didn't cut it so I cut the old stuff all out and am putting new full tubs in....Looking real good I might add :D should be done this weekend......

Thank you for the input,I have the car completly apart right now , body off frame and so on, So I thought now would be the ideal time to add new tubs if I had to go that far-- Ultimatly would like to run in the 10'' wide tire class and they are running 30-31 inch tires. Also I sure would like to see the pictures of your car .again thank you

88502, I don't mean to jump your thread, but...
Scott, are you able to keep the back seat with the tub job? Can't wait to see the end result. I've been giving my brother with the '72 ideas based on your ride - WAY NICE!! I can't wait to do the same with my '66. Kirk

i used to run a 30" tall by 10.5" wide firestone slick on my car. the outer lip was rolled up though. it would rub on 1 side on turns though. they were on prostar rims with 5.5" backspacing and were 15-10. mike
