I just got some gears for my car but Im running a 2 series posi and the gears are 3 series. Im gonna need to use a spacer. Ive read about people running spacers sheering all the bolts off and I want to try and prevent that. So I would like to get the best bolts possible for it. Does anyone know what would be the best? And where I can get them and In what size? I noted that the spacer is .310" thick if that helps.

I also got a non-posi 3 series carrier but what could I do with it? do they make anything other than a mini spool I could use for it as a posi or locker or something?

i thought the bolts for the spacer came with the kit. If not i would get some grade 8 bolts at the hardware store, these are usually the gold looking bolts and should be strong enough. I could be wrong though.

mr.gasket sell the spacer and the bolts for it.
i don't know if possible to get bolts without buying the spacer also in the kit.
i would not use regular gr-8 bolts for this.
i've sheared the bolts off running a spacer, but alot of gear slamming and hard starts with sticky tires had happened also. ............ :):)

Vince, im curious what kind of horsepower your running, I plan on using a spacer on my 2 series carrier to go from 2.73's to 3.55's i have about a 400hp/425ftlb 350 with a M20. Im curious if ill be safe.

any ideas on bolts, I already have a spacer just need the bolts, are there special bolts that I need or can I just get arp bolts with the right thread and length?

:confused:i'm not sure ARP makes spacer bolts, i know that mr.gasket does and i would try to order some rplacement bolts thru them:)

:(my power level when i was running the spacer with the 4-series gears and 3-series posi were quite similar although i had used the same spacer on a couple of different gear sets and regularly beat on the car for fun. i had either sticky tires or just rode it hard and put it away wet for years,
i would use a spacer again if needed on another car:yes:
