I would go aluminum, save another $300.00 and get AFR 180* Heads. Here is where I ordered my heads from and they are dropship from AFR with th usually 6-8 weeks wait. $1251.00Shipped to your door. Ask for Dave....

I have flowed a few sets of both heads on the same bench, & all I can say is the advertised numbers I have seen for the Pro's are a little "generous" in the lower ranges. :D
I can just about guarentee you in an honest test on the same bench the numbers between the AFR & Pro's will come out a "little" different.
As I said, I have flowed both & the only place I found the Pro's to be close were around .600 & that's where they quit flowing.
The lower numbers were not even close.
The flow numbers both AFR & Brodix publish are very real.

Heres some numbers off my bench for comparison:
I didn't have a 195 test handy but I do have some if you want it.
For info, the Pro's intake runner actually measured 207cc's on this set.
The only issues I had with the Pro's is I had to rehone the guides which meant redoing the
seats :(
As you can see, the Pro's ain't a bad head for the money.
The Brodix RR was before the CNC chamber option, check the numbers after the CNC chamber below

AFR 210------Brodix200RR ----- 200Pro-measured207

Well,,,I would never be the one to call them "exaggerated",,,probably just a difference in benches

Hey, if you compare them to advertised at .600 they are right on :D

Mike,
How about sharing what was changed with the CNC chambers to pick up flow so much, expecially on the exhaust?
Thanks..

HI Doug,
You would have to see the heads but the valves look almost like they are "sunk" from too many regrinds without the CNC chamber option. This is the standard $150 option Brodix does or will do when I order the heads.
Completly different looking chamber after the CNC work.
If you noticed, the low to mid numbers are what really increased a bunch.
The difference on the dyno was about 30HP, also with no other changes. In fact the short block sat on the dyno until I got the heads back.
This was a pretty mild 10.0 hyd cam 350 with about .500 lift.

Interesting stuff here, I'd like to see some chamber pictures before and after the cnc work. There must be some major mods with the cnc.

Bob,
You are right. It doesn't look like the same chamber when it's done.
I never even thought to take pics,,, wish you hadn't brought that up cause I will probably never get another chance.
Won't be ordering any without the CNC option again.
Now I'm feelin kinda dumb as I likes pics graemlins/clonk.gif
You know what they say,, a bird in the hand is worth a thousand pics in the bush,,somethin like that anyway
Would you settle for a pic of an aluminium block or somethin smile.gif
