Had a good time Saturday. Great weather. I sold a set of BB peanut port heads($75) and a BB geardrive ($70). Did buy a inner fender for the 55 ($20). Should have bought a gearvenders overdrive that was for sale $400. Had the adapter for a dodge. Needed the bolt on adapter for a gm trans. Anyway ,anyone find any great deals? I also met Richard Ruth. He was the guy who built the 55 Chevy for American Graffiti and later used in Two Lane Blacktop. db

I picked up a repro console (complete for automatic) for my '70 for $220... Not sure how great of a deal that really was, but the catalogs seem to want about $350 plus shipping, etc (OPGI, etc, , UPS Oversize?) , and the last swap I was at (Reno in August) they were $290...

So I was happy...

I picked up a few items...the only "good deal" I got was on Vice Grips.

Fisher Body Manual (from the bookmobile)
Assorted Vice Grips (bargained for a nice package price)
Trunk Pans + Braces for the '66 (saved on shipping)

Beyond that, there didn't seem to be too many things that were of interest to me, nor did I see any deals that I just couldn't pass up. Then again, this was my first time, so maybe I didn't know where to look or what all to look for.. ?

I didn't meet up with anyone but Ron. I was trying to help a friend try to sell his 65 Beaumont Wagon. It will be a good deal for someone with all the parts he has to sell.

Funny you mention Gear Vendors, I spent most of the time trying to find the vendor who sold me a US Gear overdrive for a TH400 that turned out to be an Underdrive for a 350. Didn't find him and it the process I probably miss a bunch of "good deals". I think he stayed home because he knew I would be there looking for him.

My deals were some sound/heat barrier padding for when I get the interior apart. That and a bundle of rags for $20. My son usually gets a bundle, but We've gotten used to using cloth rags. Wash them once or twice then toss them when the get bad. Found a chrome air cleaner with a drop base for $5. I'll us my top with it . And a book on the 72 models. The best part is that I was able to walk it instead of going around on crutches like last year. Small wonders..

One of these times I'll meet up with the guys. You probably don't want a old hot rod wantabee hanging around spoiling the fun.

:beers: I got three free beers from various bumper venders. One free Polish dog from a really cool seller who wanted to go home. Got a chrome (ext voltage regulater) alternator for $85 no core and 3 yr warranty. Bought a re-chromed OEM front bumper for my 68 velle for $220 with core from the Bumper Boyz. I could have gotten a bumper cheaper if I would have gotten there earlier in the day. All the other OEM bumper vendors were out of 68 fronts. Found a 8.5" 10 bolt posi out of a 72 velle which I'm still wheelin and dealin on. So far it's down to $150 but I gotta measure the pinion nut to make sure it's 1 1/4" = 8.5" rear end. :hurray: So far I'm pretty happy with my first Turlock swap meet!

I wont go into it because of forum rules. But make sure you look it over closely for quality purposes. I have heard many things about thier quality and ill leave it at that.
