how much would you pay for a stock rebuilt 200-4R not from a buick GN?
also, what modifications would you do to the stock trans to make it able to handle around 450-500 torque? im thinking of buying it stock and putting on a new front pump, the transgo shift kit with the .500 boost valve. what other parts would be a nice upgrade for the 200-4R? im looking to eliminate the weakest links here..

you have made sure this unit has the dual bolt pattern bellhousing if not from a chevy engined application???????????/
it may be a better plan to find one to rebuild, then you can have the right type of hd-clutches and parts needed installed, rather than pulling apart a fresh rebuild???????

it is a dual bolt pattern.
and that part about the pulling apart a fresh rebuild... yeah i was thinking the same thing and i was looking for some opinions on this topic. id more or less be installing a shift kit with the .500 boost valve, a hardened sun shell, a hardened stator support input shaft, and hardened pump vane rings. id imagine i would grab a manual on how to replace these parts, but i'd like to know how hard are those parts to get to and actually swap out before i go doing anything.

Make sure you either get a GN servo or a Superior/Fairbanks Super servo
It helps firm up the shifts, even more so than a shift kit IMHO and experience.

If its out of a GN you could put it in stock form. It already has the nice servo already in it.

Everything you need to know: http://www.ckperformance.com/resources/GM2004RTECHNICALMANUAL.html
I like the 200 4R, it holds up to my 496 just fine - last dyno results were 681 hp at the flywheel and 579 rear wheel hp with the converter locked and 541 rwhp with the converter unlocked.
For the T.V. setup I highly reccomend: http://www.tvmadeez.com/
