: 1969 power windows
gatorpan Jan 28th, 08, 10:42 PM I just converted my windows to a power set up....all stock, out of a 69 donar. I pulled this harness out of a box, and the install went great in that I had my front clip off of the car. Here is the question that I really need help with....the routing of the harness in the doors is killing me....the harness has all of the tabs and screw mounts that the factory put on them, but for the life of me I cant figure out how the routing was designed.....I know where the switches go, its the wire part..in the door, out side of the door, where the motor plug is routed, etc.... If anyone has a routing guide, or even pics of a stock setup, or just the knowledge...Thanks, this is my first post, but I have used the info on this site in almost every stage of my restore!! Thank all of you guys for your help.

anychevy Jan 29th, 08, 8:53 PM Closest I have is a 67 body manual, it just shows the loom running into the door hole via the A pillar hole.
Then it splits inside the door, one side runs to the switch and the other to the motor.
If no one else chimes in ? Keep all the wiring as close to the inside door frame as possible (as to clear the regulator and glass when moving) then cable tie it in place.
gatorpan Jan 29th, 08, 9:09 PM Thanks anychevy....hate to have to go all the way down under to get advice, but your a great sport to try and help. I was hoping to get someone that has taken out a set, or have owned a car with them installed that could tell me how the harness was factory installed. At any rate, the windows work great, and I will take your advice and keep the wires as tight to the inside of the door frame as possible.....If any one out there has a photo, advice, or a place I can find the routing info...please chime in..
Big White Jan 29th, 08, 9:16 PM There's a high probability that the information you are looking for can be found in the Fisher Body Manual or the Factory Assembly Manual. If you don't have either of these manuals (along with the Chassis Service Manual) it would be a very wise investment to get them.

I've repaired all the PW wiring on a 68 that had been swapped to RHD so that was a complete mess and nothing like original.
Hope someone has a decent pic for you.
Good luck
gatorpan Jan 29th, 08, 9:54 PM Thanks Big White....I have all of them...the fisher man shows the wire harness going into the a piller hole, and the switches.......as to the others.....well pretty much junk where pw are concerned. What I was hoping for is how the wire harness is attached to the door. Anyways...thanks guys, and ANYCHEVY, swapping a 68 to RHD is toooooo much for me to handle.....

It's a challenge to fault find when they lengthen everything with the same color wire:clonk:
gatorpan Jan 29th, 08, 10:20 PM Thanks Big White......I went back to the Fisher book, and while it doesnt show the connection points, it does show routing.......KINDA....anyways, I have a pretty good idea that I have spent too much time trying to figure this out.....I will reroute the wires and make sure they are secure....And then run the crap outa my newly rebuilt hot rod!!!
Thanks to everyone
