My Dad's '67 Chevelle had original manual drum brakes all around. We're going to convert to power brakes with front discs. I've got the following parts from my '72 LeMans that my Dad and I want to use on his '67 Chevelle:
- Master cylinder (power brakes)
- Upper control arms
- Front spindles with factory disc brakes
The stuff from my LeMans is recently rebuilt, so we want to re-use it.
Now I have a couple questions since I don't know how universal things are for brakes on the A-bodies.
1.) Does anyone see any problems with re-using any of the parts from my LeMans on the Chevelle? From what I've found so far, it looks like we should be able to re-use this stuff.
2.) What brake line kit, booster and proportioning valve should we purchase for the Chevelle? Should we just order pieces that would go on a '67 that came with factory power front discs? Or do we need something else?
If there's anything else we need to be aware of, please mention that, too.
Thanks for your help.
