My oldest son wants to have his 350 gone over for his 71 chevelle. It is a 350 with a TH350 and a 4.11 rear. He asked me if he should have the factory 5.7 rods rebuilt or go with 6.0's. I told him in a 6000 rpm street motor that goes to the track for fun, it would not make a difference. Engine builder told him 5.7's are fine. Any opinions? Thanks. graemlins/beers.gif

Never heard of a 350-357 with 6 inch rods, only with a 383, but of course Im no expert. I think I would opt for the 5.7's, in fact I did opt for 5.7's in my 357 last early spring. smile.gif

6" rods are great for a 350.. They allow for a lighter piston and help the rod angle. You can buy 6" H beam eagle rods for 325.00 with 7/16 bolts at http://www.cnc-motorsports.com/product.asp?ProdID=8089&CtgID=8077

Eagle SIR 6" rods are the same price as 5.7" rods (mine were $220 but I've seen them for under $200). 6" pistons weigh a bunch less than 5.7 pistons and the cost is the same. SIR rods weigh less than factory 5.7 rods. The engine will rev quicker with the lighter pistons and rods.
