I am not sure popular and for sale are the same. This swap meet has the worst luck with weather. Last April it snowed.

“””why so popular nowadays?”””

Maybe there popular at swap meets because, just about anything you can buy at a swap meet can be hauled home in the back.

Show off one of the cars from your collection AND have something to haul stuff home in too.

It will cost just as much to fix up, but the el Camino you buy will generally be half the price of a Chevelle. With the price of Chevelles, el Caminos are becoming more attractive all the time. I enjoy driving ours just as much as the Chevelle and can carry a load as well. When it went to the bodyshop, I loaded the back with all the sheet metal and parts that needed to be installed. Hard to do that with a car and still be able to drive it too. We're starting to see more of them around here too. It's nice to have one of each.

I was there yesterday....The best deal of the entire show was a GMC Sprint for 9K. It was in good shape all the way around too. Rare truck.

If you want to see El Caminos until your eyes bleed, go to Pomona. I'll bet I saw 50 of them there.

There is a true SS 70 El Camino in Daingerfield, Texas that may be bought. I feed hay across from it every other day. It was owned by a friend of mine who died. Any one interested I will investigate. All I know about it is it appears to have been white with black stripes.

they definitely are cheaper than almost anything else out there. for now.
my girlfriend's 15 yr old wants an old muscle car and we are exclusively looking for el caminos. they are the only ones that you can buy with a running 350 for $2000-2500 anymore.
