Gentlemen, I have a 1970 El Camino, and was told that 15x10 rally rims will go on the back with a 5.5 inch backspace. Is this correct? Will the rim clear the shock mount?????

I checked the Wheel Database (http://www.chevellestuff.com/tech/tire_wheel.htm), and didn't find any 70 El Caminos listed with a 15x10. There are, however, ten records showing 70 Chevelles running a 15x10 with either a 5 or 5.5 inch backspace. I recommend taking your car to your local whhel shop and asking them to test fit it for you before buying. Most custom wheel shops will gladly do that for you.

I would say yes....they will fit. The Chevelle and El Camino/wagons share the same wheel well openings. I have seen Elco's with 10" rims under them.

15x8 and 15x10 will work but it depends heavily on the back space.
