Well.
Seems with engine projects, for me at least, it's one step forward.....2 or more steps back.
I bought an Innovate AF meter....thank you Mike Lewis (Wolfplace). I need to carefully read the manual and put the software on my computer....and get my kids laptop fixed so we can tune in the car. We will also use it on the dyno so we can have an accurate baseline. Looking forward to seeing what it can do.
We bought a custom Comp Cams solid roller with the extreme energy lobes. It is 260/266 .666/.677 and 110 LSA. On a billet core. I'll be running the Comp polymer distributor gear.
We also sent the 1050 list 9375-1 Dominator carb to Quick Fuel Technology where it will get new metering blocks (front PV), new boosters and re-machined venturi. They say it will work dandy on the street and way better at the track. I just wasn't willing to start hacking the thing on my own with the chance of ruining it.
The Innovate will help me dial it in once the engine is off the dyno.
I was going to also dyno the 950HP on the World Products intake, but I won't do that unless we have the time. I doubt we will. I will likely have to sell that setup, I'm running out of money.
Not sure now when dyno day will be......I'm more than 3 months behind schedule as it is. But the car will be done in time for the race season here in Oregon...which sometimes doesn't get under way till April....or later. At least by then the oxygenated crap fuel will be gone. I hope.
I fully expect to break the 12 bolt..........
