What decides whether nitrous is right for your setup or not? Are there certain components in the engine that determine whether nitrous can or can't be used? I think I've heard that even a stock 350 could handle a 100 shot, and I'm wondering if later on I can maybe have a 150 or 200 shot setup on my new big block. The car is daily driven and 600 horses are enough for everyday driving so I don't see the point in a blower but it'd be nice to later on have an extra hp boost for racing. I'm not really planning on this anytime soon but I was just curious as to whether or not this would ever be a possibilty.
Thanks,
Aubrey

One thing right off the top of my head that a lot of people don't think about is top ring end gap. I have all 4340 forged stuff in my 496 but it would never be a good idea to spray it because of how tight I set the ring gap. The rotating assembly would have no problems handling it but if the rings butt together, it spells disaster.

There are other variables but I'll let the n2o guys around here fill you in on the other stuff...

What's your combo?

go to any of the N20 company sites..NOS..Nitrous express..edelbrock just to name a few. They all have a QA forum with FAQ that answers most of your questions. The top ring gap is very important..timing..fuel delivery all are important too.

Go ahead, it'll either go or blow.

They say you never know how far you can go, until it all comes apart.

Nitrous is wonderful and evil all at the same time. It is kind of like recreational drugs for some people. Some people can keep it modest and enjoy, others quickly ingest so much that they are never really the same again.

So many times I have heard 100 shot - but it never usually stays at that level.
