Put new springs in last night. Remembered today that maybe there was a piece of rubber between the spring and lca. Its been a year since I took the old springs out and my memory is getting bad.Was there rubber between? If so, is it going to rub and rust without. thanks

The only rubber should be on the top of the rear springs.

One thing that they told me down at the shop is to take an old tire tube...which you can get at any tire place..and cut out some rubber to lay on top of the springs. It is just to prevent squeaking and metal to metal wear.

The only thing about the tube idea is that the front spring has to "index" into the LCA. That might not let it fit in there correctly.
