Hello,

I noticed when I took the spark plug out of my 350 Chevy today that it was brown. Im thinking that I need to richen the fuel mixture up a bit. I have an edelbrock 750 Carb on my car and am not sure which screw on either side controls Air/fuel Mixture....

Also, When I accelerate up to 6000 RPM,... Just before Im about to shift the car bucks somewhere between 4800-6000 RPM,.. do i need to increase the size of my metering jets???

Thanks,

Dan

The two screws are for idle mixture only. Eddys use a rod and jet arrangement. Changing rods is a snap. remove the air cleaner and you'll see two little plates on either side of the throttle bores. There are small screws holding them. Loosen up the screws, but don't take them out, and swing the plates aside. The rods are in there. You can get new one individually or as a complete set along with jets. I've never had to change jets but have changed rods many times. On Edelbrock's site the complete manual is available. It has charts that tell you how much different rod and jet combos change the mixture from the factory calibration. Many times a rod change is all that is needed.
