Robert, I got mine from www.flatlanderracing.com (http://www.flatlanderracing.com)
. It has scat 4340crank & H beam rods, srp pistons. For 300 something you can get SFI balancer & flex plate , rings & bearings. Also check doug herbert for kits.

I see that the SCAT crank uses 6.135 rods and
i have seen that other cranks like the EAGLE cranks uses a 6.385 what up with that???
dose it make one better that the other??

Scat has both 6.135 & 6.385 cranks.
Also, Scat has as of the 8/01 had a price increase of about 10% on most parts & rotating kits.

I've posted most of this before but here it is again,,

My opinion is that Scat is the best of the "budget" stuff
Been using & selling their stuff for well over 12 years & can't remember the last time I had a problem that amounted to anything.
Scat finishes almost all their cranks & rods in house including sizing & profiling of the lightweight stuff & the ones they don't finish like the cast ones are polished & checked for size & stroke so their quality control is excellent.
They are not just an importer, they do everything from cast cranks to full on $3000 billets.

They now have a new line called the 7000 series which is basically a custom 4340 forged crank line where you can order the crank with just about any stroke, main size, pin size etc you want.

They also do a lot of the GM, Chry Perf Parts & Ford Motorsports stuff.

I don't use Eagles because of the well known sizing problems with the cranks. This has nothing to do with their rods.
All the Eagle rods that I have seen looked very good & the sizing was pretty much right on.

I just don't have a reason to use them as I get Scat for a decent price & feel their cranks are the best of the lower priced stuff out there

I did a 493 Chry about 2 years or so ago & my customer bought an Eagle crank for it. The first one had over 2thou of taper in the mains & would not turn :eek The second one was acceptable.
He had a hell of a time returning it,, they tried to tell him it was the block, wrong bearings,,,, wanted him to pay shipping both ways for another one,, he wasn't real pleased.

I have had people bring in some other brands of cranks they got a "deal" on that were pretty much junk that I wouldn't even balance for them.

BTW, I have pretty fair pricing on Scat with no BS charges added for "handling" etc.
Scat charges an extra $10 to drop ship for info so you might want to check the bottom line not just the "advertised" price in doing your shopping ;)

So what is the best way to go as far as rod lenght
6.385 or 6.135 ? as far as pistons i have 119cc heads and wanted to go with 10.25 or 10.5 C R
i would like a good all around piston any input out there?

6.385 with the correct crank so it will internal balance.
My choice in pistons would be SRP.
