We, turns out my never used comp 280H hits the rods in my new stroker. Darn, guess I have to get the cam I really wanted, a solid :D Anyways its for a 11:1 vortec headed 388. UD harold gave me this recommendation a little bit back

A custom cam I can make is the Lunati 01-UF80-UF77-10-A01. This cam is 267/271 at .020, 239/243 at .050, .510/.520 gross valve lift, .494/.504 net valve lift, and 110 LSA, in at 106 ICL. At .200 this cam is 150/154. Valve lash is .016"/.016"Just to clear somthing up, this cam would have .494/.504 lift at the valves because of the lash, correct? Also, going from a hydro to a solid cam+ lifters, do I need new pushrods? Lastly, how do I order this cam? Thanks all.

Bored&Stroked,

Just call Lunati at 901-365-0950, and get ext 126--Steve Slavik. I can't talk this week, I'm on a heavy assignment. Steve worked for me for 13 years and is very familar with my cams. Just give him that part number and tell him you need a small base circle cam for a 388. He should help you just fine.
If there are any problems or more questions, just post them here, or send me an E-Mail at work---

Thanks,

UDHarold

BTW--the .494/.504 valve lift is the NET lift, AFTER valve lash.

Sorry to butt in here. I didn't realize there could be a clearance problem with cams on a stroker. I have a friend that wants to change the cam in his stroker and wanted to do it without pulling the engine. I guess that is out of the question. Glad I read this post

If your using I beam rods, can't the heads of the rod bolts be ground to clear?

i think the hot ticket is stroker-clearanced aftermarket rods with capscrew rod-bolts.

yeah guys this is using stock 5.7 rods and arp bolts. I knew there might be a problem doing this when I started smile.gif Thanks harold.

Add the small base circle to the equation and you're putting the lifters that much deeper into the bores. So I'll say that you need new pushrods. You'll have to get it all together to figure out the exact length you'll need.
