I'm trying to add a "motion path" to a straight line, so that the left end of the line will stay put, but the right hand end of the line will drop down 45 degrees. Essentially, the left end of the line will be the hinge point, and will not change position.

Can anybody help me make that happen? All I can manage to do is make the entire line move out of position, and that is not what I want.

Thanks

under custom animation, add effect>>motion path>>draw custom path will let you choose the path

yea I tried that, but never could get the line to "hinge" at the Left hand end. The entire line woud move in every direction imaginable, but not hinged at the end.

don't use the straight line used the custom line - - if that doesn't work - do it in two steps, from one point to your hinge, then a second action from the hinge point to wherever you want to go.
