I just sprung for a Baer Track Kit/front and a used Sport Kit/rear. A hydraboost is not in the budget this year. The 11" booster is really close to the valve cover. A search in archives resulted in; An 8" Daul Booster needs min. of 18" of vac. and someones friend running one with 10" no problem. My engine produces 13"-14" idle in gear. I've used a manual stock disc/drum for years, so I'm used to putting some leg into stopping.

Question is "Is anyone using an 8" dual diaphragm booster with 14" on vac. or less, without a ridiculously stiff pedal?
Thanks
Kirk

I use one off a '79 El Camino with around 11" at idle and NO problem whatsoever. In fact I figure mine is good down to about 7" or so. But below that it is all over.

That's what I was hoping to hear!

If you are running an automatic the mesurment for vacuum should be taken with the trans in gear.
