: Hello from ford land
Fuzzydicerule Jan 20th, 08, 12:01 AM Now, before you flame, I (okay, my dad) DID just buy a Chevelle, She's a 1971 Chevelle SS clone. It's got a 454 BBC with a Turbo 400 and a locker 12 bolt, set up for the drags. Shes a little rough, P.O lost a wheel, and the quarter panel is all smashed in, but that is just about the extent of the damage (I know this because I was damn near there when it happened, the guy is our mechanic, and it happened last mayish, and its been fine ever since), and the first thing to get fixed. This is our 2nd Chevy, and our 3rd GM. Now, don't get me wrong, im not the kind of guy that is all ford, Chevy sucks, etc, really, I love it, as long as its American. I hope to get alot of good advice from all of the techies on this forum
Thanks guys.
oh, p.s. Pictures when she comes in tomorrow

oldtimebaseballfan Jan 20th, 08, 10:10 AM Hello and welcome Sam.
Chuck Jan 20th, 08, 11:30 AM Hey Sam,
I'm with you. When I see an American classic on the road, I wave, no matter who built it. They are all amazing. My Dad was a Chrysler / Plymouth dealer and I loved them all, especially the fast ones.
Welcome to TC, Sam
Chuck
bb1966chevelle Jan 20th, 08, 11:56 AM Hello Sam and welcome !
I am also not just a Chevy guy ... As you put it , anything American Muscle is where my heart is at also !
What kind of Ford do you have ?
Fuzzydicerule Jan 20th, 08, 2:23 PM We recently (last summer) finished a minor restomod (looks stock, until you start it) of a 1969 Mach 1, and my Daily is a 1992 Mustang GT.
I was amazed, even with skinnies, Drag radials, and a smashed in fender, all while dirty as hell, it seemed to get more waves and looks (bad or not) in 1 3 minute ride, than ive seen the mach get in a month...
we just washed her, and cleaned up the vinyl, and it looks almost new (from the right side) im taking a break, and im gonna go clay bar it and polish and wax it, and either later today, or first thing tomorrow, i need to weld up a fairly large crack in the frame (from the wheel being lost.
But yeah, thanks for the warm welcome, pics when i get them uploaded later, with my car and the mach
oh yeah, its a clone, and its going to be a street legal dragster, and hopefully look it, dont be mad, because its a clone.
also, the other chevy is a 1987 astro van (Haulin Asstro) which were outfitting as a drag truck (not to race, to hold tools and a pancake air compressor and generator) and my dads DD is a 2001 Caddi STS, sounds like a vette, nice car, i gotta say, GM did it right with that car
