Okay guys don't knock me too hard it is a 4 door. Wanting some feedback on my combination here.
I have a 477 BBC; Callies Crank, 15.1 Aries gas ported pistons, Groden aluminum rods, Team G Intake, D Port heads (2.30/1.19 valves), have a 1050 dominator, Comp cams R274, comp stud girdles, comp Lt. Wt. stainless roller rockers. This motor is dissassembled, the motor was freshened up when dissassembled but it has been sitting in boxes for a couple of years and will need to go back through the clean up process. I plan on going with some 12.1 pistons, I-beam rods and freshening everything else up. My transmission is a needle ball bearing turbo 400 it is brand new, also have a BTE 3500 stahl converter. The car already has a 12 bolt, and I am planning on putting a spool and 4:88's with either 28" tall or 30" x 11.5 et streets. Am also planning on putting on glass doors, bumpers, hood & trunklid along with lexan windows, am hoping to get the car down to 3100 lbs. minus driver. The car will have an aluminum radiator and eletric water pump and yes we plan on street driving the car (a little). I am thinking this combo should run deep into the 10's? Your feedback on the combo is appreciated in advance.

I also have a 1971 454 4 bolt main virgin motor, it has 781 heads on it and I plan on building it into a 496 for the same car. graemlins/clonk.gif

Forgot the suspension information: The car will have adjustable upper and lower rear arms with CE shocks, moroso front springs and have a set of Herb McAdams adjustable front shocks. Have good chassis guy down here that will set the pinion angle.

And yes the car will have a roll cage, and just bare minimum interior.

Also for the ignition on the motor I already have the MSD Pro Billet distributor #85551, blaster 3 coil and MSD 6AL box

Hello Nick, Hows the Lone Star State? I just bought a car from one of your fellow racers. The car came out of the "Team Gold Dust" camp, it's a camaro called "Back in Black" are you familiar with it?

Sounds like your building a pretty serious hitter. Is it correct to assume your trying to do a sleeper motif with the 4 door? ;) Anyhow, if you already have pistons and rods why not use what you have? I know aluminum rods are a little sketchy on the street but seriously how much street duty is this thing going to see? I hear Groden Rods are pretty damn good. And that cam is going to hit like a freight train,(kinda hard to keep the sleeper image going), probably going to need a bit more stall than the 3500, I'd suggest calling BTE and give them the specs and let them suggest the converter, maybe they could restall your existing one. They could also help you with gear selection. The car should be a nasty ride, it should easily go deep in the 10's on the motor.

I have a 66 4 door. Mine waigh 3300 lbs full interior and 2 12" subs in the trunk. Mine is a 355 with aluminum heads and intake. so your engine must waigh a bit more. You should be able to get to 3000 lbs easy with all that fiber glass and taking out the windows. I bet the roll cage added some waight, hey?

I Love my 4 door.

Rob,
Yes I am very familiar with that car. It has been around for a long time and has some incredible history. Keep the Legend rolling. Oh and that car loves to wheelstand...LOL!!! There used to be some video's of the car on www.ghettosledracing.com, (http://www.ghettosledracing.com,) good luck and have fun with the car it is a sweet one! Alot of time has been put into that car.

I figure that 3000 lbs is not out of the question on the 66. I agree love them 4 doors!

Thanxs. I will when I'm ready. I decided to wait on the twin turbo. I wana get it back together asap. so I'll keep the 450 hp for now. I will write that number down though. Thank you very much.
