: 3 deuce intake
1967ChevelleSS Jan 18th, 08, 10:45 PM I have had this sitting around for several years now and haven't done anything with it since the day i got it. It's an Offenhaucer SBC 3 deuce intake and it has the hole for the oil fill tube on the front. Don't ask why the dumbass painted the 2 outer filters orange because I have no idea. He was an old burnt-out druggie hippie.
Any idea what it might be worth?

d1_bradley Jan 19th, 08, 10:28 AM $500 is WAY too much for one of these............. especially one that needs a complete redo. You'll notice that the one on Ebay IS redone and also has ZERO bids at that price. For a 'used' one, I'd say $150 would be good for buyer and seller. After all they are for 'show' only. No performance gain.
Dean Jan 19th, 08, 1:31 PM Should bring $100. maybe

I certainly don;t expect $500.00, but the carbs were supposedly rebuilt when I got it, and I never used them so they should be in grat shape, unless the gaskets have gone bad. But with no fuel in them, I think they should be OK.

If you decide to take Dean's advice, I'll give you $100 for it.
Jim Mac Jan 19th, 08, 4:29 PM If I had a street rod or a tri five chevy I'd be all over that set up. for a chevelle or camaro, no. are you going to ebay the thing? jim

I don't know that I want to sell it at this point. I've just had it lying around for quite a while and was curious what it might be worth. I think I bought 10-15 years ago and never even bolted it on.
I won't put it on my Chevelle, I have a big block anyway. But like you said, if I had a shoebox or rod, that would be cool!

More than likely wiping his nose off on it. Rattle cans get messy. :D

Only believe about 10% of anything that anyone selling ANYTHING says :D
6704gto Jan 20th, 08, 8:41 PM you can buy the 3 duece intake still its not like its not being made no more
jaf6738 Jan 24th, 08, 10:44 AM Looks like you should start cleaning yours up, even throw some $ at it, and put it on ebay. The nice one in the auction posted, sold for a whopping $960.00

Keith Tedford Jan 24th, 08, 1:28 PM A friend has a '32 Ford coupe with the tripower setup. He got it to work just fine and was completely happy with it. Suited the '32 to a "T".
Chris R Jan 24th, 08, 10:11 PM It would look sweet on a 28-31 model A hot rod. Or even a rat rod style hot rod.
I dont know how valueable the carbs are but I can see maybe the entire setup being worth 500 bucks. But im not totally certain what even the carbs even sell for. Can you still buy those intakes new from Offy?

WOW - I better get mine cleaned up! Same thing, just w/o the oil filler neck, was on the Chevelle when I bought it, controlled the outer two carbs w/ choke from the dash! Yeeehaaa! I am seriously thinking of building up my next engine w/ that back in place, gotta find some good linkage, maybe a tri-angle air cleaner like the BB's have, but for a small block.

Doug Garland Jan 31st, 08, 8:26 PM You can still get them new, BUT you can't run a HEI distributor with them. The base hits the back of the rear carb/ intake runner.
