I would like to do the low pro roll bar install and I'm thinking about tackling the job myself with the help of a buddy but I was wondering is it possible to run the main hoop behind the window channel and the back bars through the package tray with the kit or does it have to be custom tube to do that?
Thanks!

I used the CE kit and did exactly what you're talking about. The main hoop lines up with the weather strip that joins the front and rear window and the rear bars go thru the speaker openings in the package tray.Took me and a friend 8 hours from start to finish.Good luck.

You will need to order the back bars extra. The ones that come with the std kit do not go thru the package tray. I ordered both and that kit fits very well in my '69. A nice tight fit.

Excellent guys thanks for the feedback! what about welding to the frame, did you have to lift the body to get access?
Where you able to put your headliner in afterwards?
Was there anything else you needed to buy?

When cutting out the floor to get to the frame cut out plenty then you wont have to trim it and it makes it easier to patch it in.I didnt take my headliner out to do.Lotsa card board.

i picked up a s&w 8 pt bar kit and i am in the process of installing it. im not really doing it the way that they suggest so the kit of course doesnt fit. im running tubes from the back brace in an X configuration and welding them to the frame at the upper control arm mounting pts. the bars that come off the top of the main hoop will mount to the frame at the rear shock mounts. the main hoop is also laid back and is hidden from view if you dont know its there. i called s&w and they told me that my configuration was a perfectly acceptable option to their suggestion.
also make sure to weld to the frame. i was afraid that the rumors of the bars acting like tuning forks would be an issue, but s&w among others say that they have never heard of this. if you weld to the frame dont weld to the floor also. do like was suggested and cut BIG holes instead of having to go back and recut once you have it lined up and you cant get a full bead on it.
