i bought a 66 chevelle off a guy who couldn't find the key when i arrived to pick up. so he unhooked the back of the switch and added some jumper wires that i touched together to start. i am just stripping this car so key is no problem. my problem is jumper fell off from where he had it connected. does someone have solution. he made a short u-shaped jump and two long straight leads that i touched together.

You would "jumper" the RED to BLK/PNK (provides power to distributor and gauges, etc) Think "ON" position.

Then touch Purple to RED to start (provides power to starter solenoid for START)

The Purple to RED is only during cranking. If its an Auto, it must be in Park or Neutral for the starter to crank.
