There is a possibility that I may be able to get a Donovan 410 block. Second hand information is that the block is in good condition, but a rod and piston are trashed. The cylinder wall is ok. First question, is $1000 a decent price? Second, I know absolutely nothing about a Donovan 410 block. Would it be something I would want to put into my '69 Camaro? I looked on www.donovanengineering.com, (http://www.donovanengineering.com,) but the details on that block aren't very clear to me. It does not use standard motor mounts? I haven't talked to the guy about it yet, but I wanted to get ya'lls opinions. Thanks.

You'll need to get rid of the comma at the end of the link.

Looks to me like you'd have to use a front mount plate and a dry sump. No fun.

I talked to the guy today. He already has another buyer on the line, but if he backs out, then I have a chance. He says that the block does have motor mounts and could very easily be set up for a wet sump. He did say that it needs two sleeves, but the "Hank the Crank" crank is in good shape.

Hey gw,

Ever make it up to Palmer for the drags? Man, I dont know about a block that needs two sleeves, maybe not a big deal with an Al block. I would give Dave Stacey a call at ADB Machine in Anchorge and run it by him, he would know for sure and could quote a price for local repair.

If it has the motor mount bosses, then I don't think it is the 410. Check it out and compare to the Donovan website.

Hi Craig. No, I haven't been up to Palmer yet for the races. I need to get up there, though, and check it out. Maybe one of these days I'll have my car back together and be able to run it! Thanks Thomas. If I do get a chance to buy it, I'll get more details on it. He did say Donovan and it is 410 c.i., so it may just be the other block.
