All head people please check this out!!! For my first time I saw a new set of aluminum heads that have the rocker or stud mounting holes drilled and tapped and run all the way into the intake runners on all 8 intake passageways on both heads. I am not a know it all but this does not seem kosher having a bolt hole drilled into the intake runners. My ole Chevy alumin um factory heads have no bolt holes in the runners of the intake passageways or the exhaust. Am I missing something here? Thanks

Nope, your 100% correct. When you install your rocker arm studs use thread sealant with teflon and your good to go.

Butch is dead on. You must run a thread sealant in these applications just like you do for head bolts that are in water passage ways.I like Ply-a-seal for these applications.

It is also a good idea to inspect the runners with the studs in place as they will effect air flow if hanging down into the port. This is why they make die grinders.

my vortec heads were like that, and i believe pretty much every other small block head is like that, as well.
