I had adjusted my carb to be perfect at the plugs without the air cleaner, but something strange happen when I put the 14" Edelbrock Elite Air Cleaner on the carb. My engine runs rich and cover the plugs with sooth. I have been adjusting my idle and mixture screws on the 3301VS using a vaccum guage.
How could just adding the Air Cleaner make an engine runs rich....

could just be the slight restriction of the cleaner plus underhood temps being higher then when you were tuning with the hood up...

Are you still running with the stock hood or did you have to buy a cowl to fit the Air Gap? I'm guessing you have no clearance whatsoever if yer still stock?

Right not she does not have a hood on. So i have been turning a few corners without a hood. I have been adjusting the idle and mixture screws. maybe I will turn them in a 1/4 turn and put the air cleaner on them keep doing a few run making 1/4 turn afdjustment until she get right.
