Cool Ferguson!

In the 40s, a company named "Funk" built conversion kits to put flathead Ford V8s in 8N and 9N Ford tractors. My uncle has a 9N with a Funk-Ford I-6 conversion... much faster than a stock 9N :D

every now and then, when flipping past RFD TV, they are showing footage from some antique tractor show or whatever. sometimes, they show a classic tractor pull. a while back, there was a guy with a built small block Chev on some old little tractor of some sort- it looked kind of like the old Farmall B sitting out by the shed, but i know almost nothing about tractors beyond what color a John Deere or international is- with some 13 year old girl driving it in the competition..

That German kid is crazy! Just think what he could do with a real engine! :D

How did they get the speed out of it, I thought they were geared pretty low for pulling. All of the ones I've been around only went about 20 mph. Maybe the sound just made it look faster. Maybe it has a reduction box that they reversed? And I don't think they are redneck, maybe red curtain necks??

Just doing it with a lot of rpm's,he has done something to overspeed the governor. Most old tractors like that Ferguson were governed around 2k,he's cranking a lot more rpm's than that.

The redneck tram from the other thread could learn from this.... THIS is way better for shuttling around three trrailers full of people, compared to the slow pink rider..... "sit down, strap in, and shut up!"

A stock Ferguson like that was an in-line flathead 4-cyl... that looks like an OHV V-6.

Very scary! If he's a "real" farmer/redneck, that was probably only the 3rd most dangerous thing he did that day. :D As a proud redneck farm-boy, I can assure you that looks relatively safe compared to much of what we used to do.
