: My funding faucet dripped a little today...
RAMBO Jan 17th, 08, 2:38 AM Sold that beater chevy truck i've been sitting on today... $1k... Paid $200 for it 6 months ago, so that rocks.
Told the wife that $800 can go into our kitchen remodel fund, the other $200 is mine...
I sold my cool old Finned Aluminum edelbrock valve covers to a guy here on TC in South Carolina for $300...
Had a guy call me out of the blue today on an old expired craigslist ad for a Mustang factory shop manual I've been trying to sell... Another $50 in my pocket...
Another $50 should be on its way in a day or two, sold another TCer my old 3.07 gears & open carrier.
so... $600 floods into my very dry car fund! Any Suggestions on spending it?
The 2400 Stall is a no brainer.. I already got the Shift kit for christmas... I do need to snag a Tranny cooler as well to keep the tranny happy.
I think I should finnaly throw the $200 down and get my missing lower body chrome...
Any suggestions for the rest?
Hey Darryl... Any idea how much would it cost to upgrade my valve springs & retainers like we were talking about?
66 Buick Special Jan 17th, 08, 5:03 AM Nice Ben!
I was just adding up the parts I've sold off the Buick during this upgrade. I'm at roughly $600 sold as well! :)
Red Rocket Racing Jan 17th, 08, 6:57 AM Man I could sure use a little "possitive cash flow" :(
66SSFan Jan 17th, 08, 7:40 AM I have a trans cooler for you, in great shape but its blue and you will need new hoses. I can leave it at your place tomorrow, I'm coming up to get some furniture in Kirkland.

No money for a rebuild... Think i'm just gonna do the fluid & filter/shiftkit- and converter and keep my fingers crossed.
OutCast Jan 17th, 08, 3:05 PM I'm sure you guys are already all over this, but I just discovered a way to try and make a little bit of speed money.
I'm no computer guy, buy my 11 year old showed me how to load pictures on to the Chevelle classifieds last night. So I now have 2 items for sale, and who knows, maybe they will actually sell. it's free to do, you can post in a variety of categories, and I already have about 40 hits on one item.
I just bought off the classifieds a new ( to me ) B&M Megashifter, cable, and brackets from a guy in Indiana for $65, and it should be here in a couple of days.
So after my major garage clean out last night, I'm going to throw a bunch of junk (to me), treasure (to others) on the site and see what happens. Under my sundeck I have boxes and boxes of extra Chevelle bits and pieces that someone might spend a buck or two for.
What the heck, it's all bonus cash if anyone actually buys anything. Maybe it can pay for a night or two of entertainment at the Red Rocket Ranch this summer.

Nice work! $300 for VC's is amazing, even if they are collectables. That old truck you got was in decent shape and I'm glad you turned a profit.
If you wanna wait a year or so, you can have all my driver quality chrome for free. When I repaint I plan on shaving all of that business off anyway.

:hurray: I'm surprised you didnt know that our classified were free and how to post. I have sold a dozen items off my elky or spare parts on our free classified. In my opinion, its better than ebay. I am not to the stage in life like Darryl where I just keep everything I ever get. So whatever I am not using, I sell off for someone else to use, good way to make some cash. Obviously I have spent way more replacing certain parts but everything I have removed from the Elky to replace or upgrade has been sold for a total of $2240. It defiantly helps...
PS: I keep an excel spreadsheet of everything purchased/sold.

BEN,,,,,newlywed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,grasshopper,,,,,one must be creative when funding ones "guy stash". Example: " Honey, I sold that old beater truck for $500 and I only paid $200. I more than doubled my investment, isn't that awesome?" "Hey, you can have half for what ever you wish,,,,,maybe the kitchen remodel and we can come up with the rest out of our regular fund?"
Leaving $750 for the "guy stash" out of the truck alone.......................
One day, grasshopper,,, you will see the light. It will take a few years to gain the knowledge to be "guy stash" successful. :D :D
By the way, my guy stash is empty right now.... :(

kettbo Jan 17th, 08, 6:42 PM What Darryl said!
Go to the grocery store, spend $134, tell wife it was $154....$20 over cash for the car fund.
Ensure grocery receipt is misplaced.....
I had wifey giving me her work bonus checks, misc refunds, etc for the vinyl top repairs.
Just got the call to come get my Elky...
Just had an excellent job interview.....
Remodel projects for this phase about done...
The season is starting quicker than I figured....
Everything is looking up!
cobaltchev67 Jan 18th, 08, 11:42 AM Funding faucet.....never thought of it that way, I always thought it was like a car payment to me. I don't have a car payment, so I guess I'm just used to it. Then again, last week I worked 59 hours, and this week I finished with 60.....I've got more of a problem finding time to spend $$$$$ than actually making it:D Sorry guys, I'm just in a good mood and my work week is over. As far as my returned money on sold parts, I'm about $1000 plus so far, with not a whole lot left to sell. Not having a significant other it's a lot easier I'm sure to spend the money on the car, but sometimes justifying it takes a little effort. That reminds me, I need to call Gear Vendors about the Super T-10 tranny tunnel adapter setup......:beers:
