is there any way to run a nitrous engine and mimic a turbo/supercharger engine to use pump gas with a somewhat large shot? Say upwards of 275-325hp worth? Possibly ramping using a progressive and timing control?
Any secrets to using nitrous and pump fuel? Compersion, valve timing?

We all agree that the more mix you put in the more power you get out, then what is it about nitrous that doesnt let it run like a turbo or charger?

Im just trying to think out of the box:confused:

very deep question... i will let others reply first. runing that big of shot on pump gas is a no no, but there is a very slim chance that it could be possible.......

The guys in the pump gas drags sure put a lotta juice thru on 93 octane.
Other than that I have no comments.

Nitrous increases the cylinder pressure a bunch. It's not a real good idea to go over 275 H.P. level unless you increase the octane of the fuel. If you want to hit it hard you'd be wise to change everything over to ethanol (E-85) first and get sufficient fuel flow capability too. Those guys at the Pump Gas Drags hurt a lot of parts, the exception would be the Chevelle from Canada in 2004. The guy who won in 2007 burned up some plugs and said he was spraying 350. Ninty three just isn't enough octane to prevent detonation for more than a few seconds. You can make much more power with a Turbo or a ProCharger.
