I have a 70 with a 454 that the hood is off i need to know what air cleaner size will work on me car, i have the stock cowl hood , and my intake is a Victor jr and a holley also HEI
i want to beable toclose hood with out rubbing or hitting

Have you got a cowl hood? I could run a 1" spacer and a dual plane with a 3" drop base air cleaner on my '72 with a cowl hood. So, if you loose the 1" spacer, replace with a Vic Jr., that will be about the same, when I measured it up in the summer. Now, without a cowl hood, you're looking at a drop base with a 2" air cleaner, which will give you about 1" clearance between the lid and the carb inlet, maybe less, so a pretty severe restriction.
