Title says it all. I want to use a manual steering box for my 70 malibu race car. I am wondering if they may be interchangeable. I found a decent used 67 gearbox on Craigslist.

Thanks.

Should bolt right in with the exception of the pitman arm. Be sure to get the manual pitman arm with the 67 box if possible. The splines are differenct between power & manual. Individually that manual pitman arm may be pricey.

I put a manual box from a 69 Camaro on my 69 Malibu. Works great. As stated above, you'll need a new pitman arm. I got one from a warehouse that sells circle track racing parts...was much cheaper than the restoration parts dealers.

Thanks guys. The gear box comes with the pitman arm so it looks like I'm good to go. I wasn't looking forward to dropping $200 on a new one.

Should be no problem. I put a power steering box from a 71 'velle in place of my manual box on my 64 elky, so you'd figure the reverse would be true. Pitman arm needs to be for manual box for sure.
