So the discussion last weekend was, If I have a later M20 with the fine spline input and 32 spline output. It's a direct swap lengthwise to a turbo 400 in my chevelle. My car has a turbo 400 right now, and the muncie I bought is a 1970 model, which is correct for the 70 chevelle, but I was just hoping to swap out the tranny and use my stock driveshaft. Jim

Muncie and THM350 have the same length driveshaft. Although you do have the correct yoke.

You'll need a longer drive shaft . I will be doing this simular (M22W) change out in the next month or two in my 71. Driveway replace in planning stage is the hold up

Muncies, Borg-Warner, 3 speeds, Powerglides and TH 350's are all the same length, but some had different spline counts - TH 400 is an inch or so longer than all the others. I don't like to spend extra $ any more than the next guy, but a drive shaft reconstruction is about $125 - $150 balanced and with new joints, well worth the $ for peace of mind, IMHO
