Iam working on my 70 vert project, I have all new wires in the car, I have found the location for all the wires but the one in the pics. I can not find a home for it, I have looked at the diagrams and cant find this wire, its a solid brown wire and a black with pink tracer wire into a single plug.any help on where it goes would be great. Thanks Don

Cigarette lighter?????? Just a guess. Seems like a fairly heavy wire in the pic.

I believe that is the power feed for the blower motor. Do you have A/C? If so that one plugs into the harness that goes thru the firewall to the blower motor resistor...either that or it plugs into the heater controls for the blower motor. That's my guess anyway.

The wire is there to power the A/C circuit, if you don't have A/C it's unused. Look at your fuse block. the top fuse is marked A/C TCS the brown wire connects to that fuse. The black/ppl wire is routed back to through bulkhead then to the TCS solenoid.

Not one of GMs brightest designs, supplying power to a 20 ga wire with a 25 A fuse.:clonk: It's not uncommon to find that black/ppl wire with melted insulation, short it to ground at the TCS relay the wire can heat up and melt the insulation without blowing the fuse. For 71 and 72 the TCS circuit gets power from the radio fuse.

Elree,

In your opinion, what would be your remedy for this wiring connection? I will be re-doing my wiring on my '70 Convertible later this winter, I have ALL ORIGINAL wiring in place, as well as A/C. I haven't been under the dash as yet, BUT, was just thinking ahead. Your opinion would be appreciated, Thanks ED.
