pulled the 25.5" nittos off and replaced them with 28" 12.50x15s E.T streets. 8" ATI and 4.11s out back. I know have a 1st gear that is funcional on the street. these things seem to hold vary well. i guess the nittos were so short, 1st gear, it was impossible to punch it, rev limiter, instantly. now i can run it out in 1st. the down side is the car just dosent seem to pull as hard after the 1/2 shift, and third gear dosent seem like much at all. also, the car seems like it wants to wander around cruzing at 50-55 with the E.Ts on, whats all this about? do i need to replace the radial front tires with bias tires? thanks Dave

The wander is due to the bias ply design with more (softer, more flexible) sidewall compared to a much shorter radial tire with a stiff sidewall.
I myself prefer a radial tire for street use which is why I went with the BFG drag radial. The Et street should hook up much better on the track for you although you give up decent road manors in the process.
Everything has some sort of trade-off.

Heck, I drive around with e.t. drags on,,just air them up to 30 psi...no problems :D Going back to BFG's when these wear out,,,can't beat the 132.00 at wally world.

Yeah Dave, air them up. If 20lbs is wobbly then go for 28-30. Just wait till that thing is tuned better, 1st gear on the street will still be iffy even with the dot slicks. 2nd gear should hook and go though.
