I have a 67 chevelle.I took the center section out of the dash (speedometer and gauges) and made an aluminum insert to fit In Its place. There will be 5 gauges mounted In this piece.Speedometer, amp, water temp, fuel and oil pressure.I will be eliminating all the gauges and dash lights. My question Is what do I do with all the wires that I will not be using.Should I cut them off and tape them up or leave them and tape them out of the way.Any Ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
I wouldn't cut any of the old wires out. Check each one to make sure it isn't hot. If it is, find the reason it is. Remove the power source to it. I would then bundle them together and find a spot to secure them. A nice wrap or two of tape will make a decent looking bundle.

To go 1 step further. If you know what the wires went to label them. Them bundle them up and wire tie them together and up out of the way. Maybe this will save someone some extra work in the future if they go back to factory dash.

What type of charging system are you using? Unless you are using a 1 wire alternator, you will need the GEN light and bypass wire to power the charging system. Without them the alternator won't work (charge).
